Transform Your Experience of Birth & Postpartum
with My 6-Week Programme

I strongly believe that every woman & parent should have the information, and be supported in their decisions, to experience birth and motherhood in a way that they choose. My mission is to support women & families, based on thier personal circumstance, and advocate their individual decisions on what they feel is best for them.

Did You Know?

Doula involvement in pregnancy, birth and beyond has had these positive outcomes:

  • 34% Decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience

  • 31% Decrease in the use of labour augmentation

  • 28% Decrease in the risk of C-section

  • 14% Decrease in the risk of newborns being admitted to a special care unit

  • 12% Increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth

  • 9% Decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief

Module 1 – Labour & Birth

Cut through the BS with current, evidence-based information about the hormones, phases & stages of labour & birth, birthing the placenta, what to expect in a Cesarean birth, & unexpected challenges that may arise.  We will also cover

  • advocacy & decision making
  • explore how to write a birth plan that works for you
  • introduction to the modern medical management of birth

Module 2 – Infant Feeding

Bust the myths around infant feeding with our guest Lactation Consultant & explore newborn feeding reflexes, the importance of TONGUE FUNCTION, optimal position & attachment, how to know your baby is getting enough, how to protect your milk supply, expressing & pumping, & paced responsive bottle feeding. This module will give you:

  • Information to make decisions in supporting your newborn’s feeding
  • Support in however you decide to feed your baby – breast or bottle

Module 3 – Practical Baby Care

This is not your ordinary practical baby care 101… Of course, you will learn about bathing and nappy changing AND you will also have access to our entire library on

  • Supporting your baby’s microbiome
  • Baby wearing (hands free self-care!)
  • Safe Sleep

Module 4 – Identity Transition

The only thing we can consistently rely on is change.  Explore where you are at right now and what change REALLY looks like:

  • Physically
  • Emotionally
  • Spiritually

& how you can prepare for it in the 4th trimester & beyond.

Module 5 – Changing Relationships

Just like life, relationships don’t stay the same.  Babies build secure attachments  – the foundation for their lifelong emotional wellbeing – based on the relationships their primary care givers have with themselves & others.  We will explore this in more detail & you will have the chance to start thinking about what this might look like for you.

Q&A at the end of every session

Exciting Guest Speakers

On-line First Aid Course

Mel is extremely knowledgeable in all things related to pregnancy, childbirth, and caring for your newborn. She educates, empowers and supports, and becomes a true companion in the journey through motherhood.

Robyn de Klerk

I truly believe [Mel] played a massive part in helping me have one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was just incredible and I don’t think that would have been possible without you. Your work is amazing – THANK YOU!!

Chloe Fletcher

I cannot recommend Mel highly enough. She enabled us to have the most positive birth after having had a previously traumatic experience. Mel is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and committed.

Angela Holmes

She was fantastic. She was so kind and full of knowledge on how I could achieve the kind of labour that I wanted. It went exactly to plan and not many women can say that. I have no doubt that this was due to Mel’s techniques with me during early labour. She taught me exercises to ensure that the baby’s head was in a good position for a swift, uncomplicated labour. Mel has a very warm personality and is extremely caring.

Jo Richardson

At about 7 weeks I started to find breastfeeding really painful with sore nipples. I knew I wanted to continue but it was getting increasingly hard. I turned to Mel who immediately provided invaluable practical advice and reassurance. Mel was proactive, confident in her advice and importantly kind and supportive. With her help I got through the tough patch and continued breastfeeding for 18 months which my son and I loved. I don’t know where I would have turned to without her.

Holly Richardson

Having a prem baby and being unable to breastfeed her for 2 months was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. Having lived in the hospital for one of those months and constantly being told what to do by doctors and midwives, stripped me of my confidence as a mom and a person. We were so lucky that Melody became a part of our family’s journey just before I wanted to give up. Her knowledge is so extensive on everything “birth and beyond”, that if something wasn’t working for us, she could always offer an alternative that suited our needs and values. With Melody’s awareness of the massive emotional journey motherhood is, her support and guidance allowed me to gain my power back as an instinctive mother. It takes a special person to do what she does. If you have the option to have her be part of your new family’s story… don’t hesitate to reach out to her.
