I’m Mel, CEO and founder of All Things Birth & Beyond
I’m a mum of two, Doula UK full-spectrum Doula, BFI accredited BFC, Holistic Sleep Coach (Dip), Advanced Birth & Beyond Practitioner (BA. Hons, UofW), Reiki Master, trauma-informed Birth & Matrescence Coach and believer in YOU!
I help pregnant women and mothers transition through their new, and ever changing roles, so that they feel fully supported and empowered in their monumental transformation that is motherhood…
Matresence: “The process of becoming a mother, coined by Dana Raphael, Ph.D. (1973), is a developmental passage where a woman transitions through pre-conception, pregnancy and birth, surrogacy or adoption, to the postnatal period and beyond. The exact length of matrescence is individual, recurs with each child, and may arguably last a lifetime! The scope of the changes encompass multiple domains –bio-psycho-social-political-spiritual– and can be likened to the developmental push of adolescence.” Aurélie Athan, Ph.D.
Mel was very good at tailoring her service to our specific and unique needs as new parents (especially because we are immigrants). She gave us the space to step into new parenthood while still helping us feel supported. Because my family was not in this country she became our family. It was exactly what we needed. She communicated clearly with us before, during and after pregnancy about our needs and as we changed so did her support. Thank you Mel, from the bottom of our hearts!
